It's Valentines day where I am

Well all you lothario’s out there, today is your day to shine. It is the much overhyped and overrated Valentine’s day. Some people will think ‘it’s a lovely day, you can show the person you love how much you love them.’ I say to those people firstly you should do that every day, secondly you pay the increased prices at restaurants just because its Valentine’s day and thirdly tell that to the swamp donkeys and lonely people around us that have to suffer through the happiness of other, better looking people.
I remember those heady days at school when you would get a Valentine’s day card. Ooooh the excitement!!  Firstly you look around, checking for any clues who it may be that sent it to you. Is it the boy or girl that you really fancy, that you have had your eye on. Please let it be them,. You close your eyes and cross your fingers. Tell-tale signs are if someone cannot look you in the eye or if they have gone red and embarrassed. If you see someone do this then the chances are they are the ones that sent you the card. Now the question you have to ask yourself ‘is this worth pursuing.’ Unless you are one cold hearted bastard then you do at least have to talk to the person if not just to say thanks. That person though may be expecting something in return, what do you do? Do you give them a peck on the cheek? Do you tell them thanks but no thanks or are you that cold hearted bastard that ignores them?!?!
Now whilst all this is going on there are the poor members of the class that are left cardless and teddyless. Spare a thought for these guys and be nice to them, you never know they may grow up to be hot (there you go kids a good tip for you there).
Then as you get older and you are in a long term relationship you start to send more extravagant gifts. You see adverts for watches, diamonds, perfumes for Valentine’s day. Can you imagine if you get your partner something like that what they can expect for their birthday or anniversary?! You will have to be buying them a new car or house before long so you be careful there. Also the men send their better halves these wonderful, beautiful flowers and giant teddies and balloons to their work. Again fellas lovely touch but I bet your lucky ladies are not looking at the journey home with much joy, but hey at least you are not in trouble for forgetting. Hope you all have a great Valentine’s day and for all those that are alone, don’t worry there is always your hand and something on the tv. That is the thought for today, tune in tomorrow for something new.. Laters
